Expanding Our Skills & Services with Appointed Persons & PASMA Training
April has been a busy month for us here at EDS, in addition to our interesting and challenging operational work, we have expanded our services through training of specialist skills with the specific aim of providing a one-stop-shop for our clients. By reducing the requirement for subcontracted elements, providing more capability in-house and ultimately reducing cost and improving our service to our clients.
Appointed Persons
EDS Supervisors have successfully passed the Appointed Person Lift Training course that enables us to safely plan a lift when craneage is required, and with our certified Lift Supervisors, we can safely conduct the lift on site, negating the requirement for contract lifts. This provides us with a thorough knowledge of lift planning and safety and also allows us to provide a more complete service to our clients. We really enjoyed the course provided by Mainport Training, who provided the course at our training room here at our base Dragon House in Caerphilly, and would highly recommend them for their knowledge and professionalism.
PASMA Tower Training
Our Teams have also received PASMA Tower Training, enabling us to choose, build, alter, move, disassemble, inspect and make effective use of mobile access towers safely. This ability allows us to provide internally alternative methods of access for the dynamic and varying sites and environments at which we work. Plant Licenses
A number of our teams have also refreshed their excavator and forward tipping dumper licenses, which continue to provide a more complete service for a wide variety of client requirements.
