The adrenaline fuelled Extreme Sailing Series™ returned to Cardiff for the fifth year running. Now a firm favourite on the Cardiff summer sports calendar, eight of the world’s top sailing teams battled it out in Cardiff Bay, Europe’s Largest Waterfront Development.

During the preparation for last weekends event, Team Alinghi’s jib sail fell into the harbour and threatened to dash the Team’s hopes of success in Cardiff.

EDS were called in to locate and recover the sail which had drifted and sunk within the bay. With minutes to spare EDS successfully retrieved the sail after a series of circular searches in poor visibility.

The Team were delighted at the chance to compete with their sail and delivered a great result, currently ranking third place overall in the Championship. More information and results on Extreme Sailing can be found on their website.
